LGBTQ caucus director responds to GOP anti-transgender school restroom bill

In response to a bill proposed by Republican lawmakers Rep. Jesse Kremer (R-Kewaskum) and Sen. Steve Nass (R-Whitewater) to ban transgender students from using the school bathroom or locker room that corresponds with their gender identity, College Democrats of Wisconsin LGBTQ Caucus Director Danny Levandoski released the following statement.

"This bill is an outright attack on the transgender community. Rep. Kremer and Sen. Nass would treat thousands of students as predators rather than young Wisconsinites simply trying to express their gender identities. LGBTQ students deserve support and fair treatment, not bigoted, mean spirited attacks from their elected officials. I call on Wisconsin legislators to reject this bill and instead work towards ensuring all young people feel welcome and accepted in our state."
