Harriet Tubman is definitely worthy!

LR the Liberal Redneck here, coming to you from a country where racist, white, “good Christian” conservatives are going bat shit crazy about president Andrew Jackson being replaced on the $20 bill by abolitionist Harriet Tubman.

First of all, where is it written in the Constitution (the favorite document of the misinformed) that only old white men should be featured on our national currency? I can’t find that part. Jackson was a member in good standing with the 1.6% of our population that actually owned slaves. Notice the similarity with today’s economic system?

The haves and the have-nots have been with us since the beginning of our nation and it embarrasses us to no end in our relations with the rest of the world. Jackson was a murderer who killed a man in a duel supposedly over the honor of his wife whom he married while she was still the legal wife of another man. He was a first class victimizer.

Harriet Tubman, on the other hand, was a first class victim saver. Born a slave in Dorchester County, Maryland she endured beatings and whippings from her various masters until she escaped to Philadelphia in 1849. She quickly returned to Maryland and helped the rest of her family escape. Then she became a guiding light on the famous Underground Railroad, and is credited with personally saving over 70 slaves by leading them to freedom in the North.

She became a Union spy in the Civil War and personally led a raid at Combahee Ferry that freed over 700 slaves. Her personal courage and bravery make her entirely worthy of being honored as a great American, and the racist naysayers can kiss my redneck ass if they don’t like it!
